3D BODY SCAN & BODY FAT PREPARATION

No preparation is needed besides bringing and wearing the most appropriate attire for the most accurate scanning results. Women should bring and wear during the scan a no padding/wires or least amount of padding sports bra with form fitting underwear. Men should bring and wear during the scan form fitting briefs, boxer briefs or speedos.

RESTING METABOLIC RATE ASSESSMENT

Relying on BMI and estimated daily caloric needs is a thing of the past. Accurate RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) measurements have only been available by using cumbersome expensive equipment, and were generally only available at hospitals, but today our equipment provides the same critical RMR data with just a simple 10 minute breath test at a fraction of the cost. This gold standard in RMR assessments is safe, simple and extremely precise.

HOW IT WORKS

Our RMR Assessment technology measures the oxygen that your body consumes, as this is directly correlated to how many calories you burn or not burn easily. Using this measurement it calculates your Resting Energy Expenditure (REE), commonly referred to as a Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). Your RMR is the amount of Calories you would burn if you did nothing except sit in a chair all day. We use this number to determine your target goals.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR

This assessment can screen for abnormally low metabolic rates and pinpoint the precise caloric intake required for weight loss, maintenance, or muscle gain. Many times this assessment explains your frustrating attempts to lose weight in the past, helps you break through plateaus and helps you maintain your goal weight for a lifetime without any guesswork. Your RMR changes with weight loss and exercise, so you must assess regularly to make sure you stay easily on track without any dips in your progress.

RMR PREPARATION

It is desirable to measure your resting metabolic rate at a true resting level. To ensure you and your body are at rest, we recommend the following preparation:

  1. Avoid eating a meal 4 hours before the assessment.
  2. Refrain from exercise or endurance training for 24-hours prior to your assessment.
  3. Avoid food, tobacco, alcohol, caffeine or other stimulants 24-hours before your assessment.
  4. Continue medications as your physician(s) prescribed.
  5. During the assessment it will be important to get into a comfortable position and relax as much as possible. We will have you lay comfortable on a padded table.
  6. During the assessment you will keep your lips sealed lightly around the mouthpiece. It is important that all the air breathed out is analyzed by the RMR assessment technology.

Exercise Metabolic (VO2) ASSESSMENT*

An Exercise Metabolic (VO2) Assessment is generally considered the best indicator of your fitness level. It reveals your body’s unique response to physical exercise at different levels of intensity. It also helps for weigh management strategies and determines optimum carbohydrate and fat intake for your body. It is suitable for a wide range of individuals, from the sedentary to elite athletes. This equipment is the gold standard in Exercise Metabolic (VO2) assessments and it also measures VCO2.

HOW IT WORKS

This assessment analyzes key components of your metabolism starting in a resting state and gradually progressing to a state of higher exercise intensity. This is performed on a treadmill or bike. The physiological measurements recorded include your VO2, which is the volume of oxygen that you are able to take in and utilize in your body (the actual measurement is “milliliters of oxygen used in one minute per kilogram of body weight.”) and VCO2, which is the volume of carbon dioxide exhaled.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR

Our Exercise Metabolic (VO2) Assessment can be used as the foundation for a personalized weight loss program or peak performance exercise program that truly meets your individual needs. It will determine:

  • Precise target heart rates for fat burning or peak performance.

Exercise Metabolic (VO2) PREPARATION

  1. Complete the Exercise Readiness Questionnaire (ERQ) or Participate Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ).
  2. Dress in comfortable exercise attire.
  3. Refrain from exercise or endurance training for 24-hours prior to your assessment.
  4. Avoid food, tobacco, alcohol, caffeine or other stimulants 24-hours before your assessment.
  5. Continue medications as your physician(s) prescribed.
  6. Exercise warm-up per usual routine.
